Obituary

Guy E. Gosier, age 79 of Three Mile Bay, passed away Tuesday evening at Samaritan Medical Center after being stricken at home. Guy was born August 25, 1933 in Rosiere, N.Y. the son of Aloysius and Elizabeth Palmer Gosier. He attended several schools and graduated from Chaumont High School. He married Marion E. Allen in August of 1958 that marriage ended in divorce. He later married Julia E. Empie on August 12, 1978 at the Three Mile Bay Methodist Church. Guy was a journeyman electrician for Local 910 I.B.E.W. of Watertown. He was also a rural mail carrier. He was a member of I.B.E.W., 33 year member of Three Mile Bay Fire Dept. and served on the Board of Directors, 13 years on the Town of Lyme Water Board, 12 years on the Town of Lyme Planning Board, Instituted the Lyme Community Days and Fireworks, N.Y. National Guard member, 1986 he built the first diner "Guy's Diner" in Three Mile Bay. He was an avid gardener, Brooklyn Dodgers Fan, and "The Worlds' Greatest Father and Grandfather." He is survived by his wife Julia, children: Julia and Timothy Madison of Queensbury, N.Y., James and Lisa Gosier of Jamesville, N.Y., Andrea and Dan Cortelyou of Schenectady, N.Y., stepchildren include Andrew and Tissy Adams of Three Mile Bay, Nicole Marchiony and her companion Darren Yott of Three Mile Bay. He also has 12 grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren, sisters: Elizabeth Emerson of Watertown, Vera Camacho of Arizona, brothers: Paul Gosier and wife Elaine of Chaumont, William Gosier and wife Edna of Schenectady, numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by Brothers John, Leonard, Ellsworth ("Red"), Robert and Sister Joan Goodfriend. Funeral services will be Saturday 10:00 a.m. at the Johnson Funeral Home, Dexter with Rev. Mark Pierce of River and Lakes Parrish officiating. Burial will be in New Cedar Grove Cemetery, Chaumont. Calling hours will be Friday from 2-4 and 7-9 P.M. Donations may be made to the Three Mile Bay Fire Dept. or Ambulance Squad, or Golisano Children's Hospital 1 Children's Circle Syracuse, N.Y. 13210.
