Harold "Bucky" Locke Jr. age 83 of Pillar Point, Dexter passed away Tuesday morning at Samaritan Medical Center. He had been a patient since October 23rd. He was born November 26, 1922 in Gouverneur, N.Y. the son of Harold and Myrtle C. Dichaut Locke Sr. He attended school in Odgensburg. He entered the Army Air Corps on January 9, 1943 and served until October of 1945. He was with the 9th Air Corps and was a sheet metal worker repairing airplanes in Central Europe, Normandy, Northern France and Africa. Following his service he joined the New York National Guard where he was one of the original members to start the 127th Ordinance Group out of Carthage. He ended his career as Service Section Chief of the 127th Maintenance at Ft. Drum with the rank of Sfc. E7. He retired in 1981. He married Eva D. Robbins on October 6, 1951 at Bethany United Methodist Church in Watertown. The couple lived in Watertown where he was also the original owner of the Bike Shop in Watertown. The couple moved to Pillar Point where they had a summer home in 1981. He was an avid fisherman and hunter. He is survived by his wife Eva and the following children. Mrs. James Edna Chapman of Florida, Richard and Vina Carr of Charlotte, N.C., Bonnie Ward of Dexter. He has 8 grandchildren, nine great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren. He also has a brother Charles E. Locke of Georgia and nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a sister Bethany M. Erwin. Funeral services will be Friday 2:00 P.M. at the Johnson Funeral Home with Pastor Dan Hazelton of First Church of the Nazarene of Watertown officiating. Burial will be in Dexter Cemetery.
