Helen M. Howard, 80, of 24428 Rt. 11, Calcium, passed May 15, 2017 at her home.

Calling hours will be 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Thursday, May 18 at the Hart & Bruce Funeral Home, with a funeral service to follow at 1 p.m. at the funeral home.

Burial will follow in N. Watertown Cemetery.

She was born on June 24, 1936 in Watertown, the daughter of Albert and Alice (Bowers) Burker.  She attended Watertown High School.

Helen married Donald L. "Sonny" Howard on December 31, 1956, in Watertown.  The couple resided in Watertown and in 1995 moved to Lake's Trailer Park, Calcium.

She was a homemaker and she enjoyed playing cards, puzzles, Bingo and loved her animals.

Among her survivors are two sons and their companions, Buck Howard and Rosie A. Rickard, Watertown, Charles H. Howard and Evelyn Bentley, Evans Mills; two daughters and a son in law, Alice M. and Wayne R. Metzler, Calcium, Kelly M. Howard and her companion, Tom Biondolillo, Black River; two sisters and their husbands, Pauline and Pete Countryman, Watertown, Carol and Bob Dixon, Watertown; two brothers and their wives, Gus and Sally Burker, Carthage, Gene and Wanda Burker, Utah; nine grandchildren, several great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and her two cats, Pooh Bear and Big Man.

Besides her parents her husband, Donald L. Howard Sr., passed April 24, 2008.
