Obituary

Helen R. Weninger LaParr of 24868 Co. Rte 53 Military Road, Watertown passed away peacefully Sunday January 4th at Oswego Hospital with her family by her side. She was born at the House of Good Samaritan on December 18, 1936 the daughter of George Weninger Sr. and Rose V. Schweitzer Weninger. She graduated from General Brown School in Brownville in 1955. She married David LaParr on April 5, 1967 in Sackets Harbor, N.Y. with Justice Lee Marvin officiating. Growing up her family owned and operated the John Dorr Farm in Brownville for 13 years. Then purchased the Charles Dorr farm on the Perch River Rd. where they farmed for 23 years. After her father died they moved to Military Road where she has resided since. She loved the farm-life. Animals of all kinds gave her great joy and she had a special connection with them. She was a member of the Black River Congregation of Jehovah's Witnesses. She had a great love of God and his creation. Surviving are her husband of 47 years David; a brother George W. Weninger the 3rd of Syracuse, a son Donald R. LaParr of Watertown and his companion Susan Bracewell, a daughter Rose V. Fitzgerald and husband Patrick of Henderson, and her daughter Heidi E. Aubin and her fiance' Chris Evans of Watertown; 12 grandchildren: Ashley LaParr, Andrew LaParr, Shelby Fitzgerald, Jordan Fitzgerald, Bailey Fitzgerald, Victoria Aubin, Michael Aubin, David Aubin, Cassandra Aubin, Kristi Evans, Christopher Evans and George Evans and 2 great grandchildren. She was predeceased by her parents George and Rose. She was a homemaker all her life. She loved her family unconditionally with her whole heart. A true testament to what a mother should be. We will miss her more than words can say. The family wishes to thank Samaritan Medical Center, Upstate Medical Center and Oswego Hospital for the wonderful care and support over the last 4 months. There will be calling hours on Friday January 9th from 7-9 P.M. at the Johnson Funeral Home, Dexter. A memorial service will be held at the Black River Congregation of Jehovah's Witnesses on Saturday January 10th at 3:00 PM with John Spannbauer officiating. A spring burial in Brownville Cemetery is planned.
