Helen M. Lane ,age 86 of Brownville passed away Sunday morning at Samaritan Medical Center. Helen was born February 13, 1926 in Gouverneur, N.Y. the daughter of Irving and Mabel Jarvis Mallette. She graduated from Gouverneur High School. She married Guy B. Lane on February 17, 1968 at Pamelia. She lived in Brownville and was an owner of several restaurants in Watertown ; V.&R., Crystal, Blue Oyster and the End Zone until she retired. She was a former member of the Brownville American Legion Auxiliary and was an avid Yankee Fan. She is survived by the following children; James and Marieann Stowell of Brownville, Vicky and William Peck of Lafargeville, Steven Stowell of Gouverneur, Joseph and Catherine Marks of Brownville, Kimberly and Timothy Spaece of Alabama, and Susan Campbell of Chaumont. She has 9 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband Guy in 2009, sons Thomas Lane and Timothy Stowell. Funeral services will be Thursday 3:00 P.M. at the Johnson Funeral Home, Dexter with Rev. Patti Walz of Brownville United Methodist Church officiating. Burial will be in Brownville Cemetery. Calling hours will be from 1-3 P.M. prior to the service. Donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Association or the American Cancer Society.
