J. Wesley Marselis, age 85 of Reasoner Road, Brownville passed away at Mercy Health Center Sunday morning. He has been a resident there for the past four years. He was born August 22, 1921 in Cornwall Ontario Canada, the son of Asa and Ova Wells Marselis. He attended school in Waddington. He married Marjorie Aldrich in 1942 in Ogdensburg, N.Y. The couple lived in Brownville and he was a Machinist/ Papermaker. He worked at Black Clawson, N.Y. Airbrake of Watertown and J.P. Lewis Paper Co. of Brownville and retired from Boise Cascade Paper of Brownville. He was a member of Brownville Masonic Lodge #53 and Sackets Harbor Chapter of Royal Arch Masons. He is survived by his wife Marjorie and the following children and their spouses: Gordon W. Marselis of Florida and Brownville, Mrs. Theo Jane Holder of Arkport, N.Y., Mrs. Gary and Leah Brass of Chaumont, and Larry and Trudy Marselis of Brownville. He has eight grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild. A Masonic Funeral service will be held Friday 1:00 P.M. at the Johnson Funeral Home by the Brownville Masonic Lodge #53. Burial will be in Parish Rd. Cemetery, Watertown. There are no calling hours. Donations may be made to Jefferson County S.P.C.A.
