James F. Chiodi, age 68 of Ambrose St., Sackets Harbor passed away Sunday 12:05 a.m. at his home. He had been under the care of Hospice and his family. James was born in the Bronx on October 10, 1942 the son of Angelo and Agnes Gregory Chiodi. He graduated from school in the Bronx. He married Rose M. Caputo on December 18, 1976 in Sackets Harbor. James was a machine operator and winder inspector at Fibermark Paper mill in Brownville until retiring due to ill health in August of 2008. He is survived by his wife Rose, son William (B.J.) and Dioney Chiodi and their children Dominic, Savanah and Neyah Chiodi of Sackets Harbor, son Michael and Michelle Chiodi and their children Keirsten and Kaylie Chiodi of Belleville, daughter Tina and Jeffrey Wisner and their children Melissa and Taylor of Sackets Harbor, two grandchildren James and Rose were raising, Thomas and Robert Berkey of Sackets, a son Thomas Berkey of Watertown. He was predeceased by a sister Peggy. A memorial service will be held Saturday February 5th at 11:00 a.m. at St. Andrews Catholic Church, Sackets Harbor with Fr. Kevin O'Brien officiating. Burial will be in the spring at Lakeside Cemetery, Sackets Harbor. There are no calling hours. A reception is planned at the American Legion in Sackets Harbor following the memorial service. Donations may be made to Hospice of Jefferson County or Sackets Harbor Ambulance Squad. Arrangements are with Johnson Funeral Home, Dexter.
