James H. Hardy, 77, of 144 Haven St., Watertown passed December 31, 2016 at his home.

Arrangements are with the Hart & Bruce Funeral Home.  There will be no calling hours or funeral service.

Born on May 21, 1939 in Watertown, son of Claude and Margaret Seymour Hardy, he graduated from Watertown High School.

Following school he entered the US Navy on May 15, 1957 in Albany, NY and was honorably discharged May 17, 1960 in San Francisco, CA as an Airman.  He continued to reside in California and work at the Alcoa Plant for eight years.  He returned to Watertown in 1968 and worked odd jobs for a couple of years, from 1971 to 1975 he worked for the City of Watertown Department of Public Works and from 1975 up until he retired he worked as a maintenance man at Watertown City Hall.

He enjoyed playing golf, camping, hunting and fishing.

He was a member of the Watertown American Legion Post 61, Watertown VFW Post 1400, Mad River Club in Lacona and the Sandy Creek Sportsman Club.
