Obituary

Jean M. Stevenson, age 83 of Dexter died at home under the care of Hospice and her family Saturday morning. Jean was born October 9, 1927 in Syracuse, N..Y. the daughter of Otto H. and Muriel E. Ackerson Herrmann. She was educated in North Syracuse Schools. She worked at a young age for Otto Rousso Butter Maid Bakery. She later worked at Syracuse Ornamental Co. She married Wallace R. Stevenson on October 27, 1946 at St. Paul's' Lutheran Church in Redwood by Rev. William VanDehan. The couple spent most of their married lives on Sand Street, Philadelphia, N.Y. where she was a homemaker and enjoyed knitting, sewing and crafts. She was a member of American Legion Auxiliary Post 798 in Philadelphia where she was a past president and treasurer and Stroughs Crossing Home Bureau. Wallace died January 2, 1989. Jean then moved to Dexter. She is survived by five children and spouses; Paula and Meredith LoBello of Barboursville, VA, Brenda Stevenson of Fairport, Marie and Ron Zamojski of Skaneateles, Richard and Jaye Stevenson of Dexter, Carol and Chris Fox of Walworth, several grandchildren and great grandchildren. She also has brothers and sisters; Joan and Don Amerman of N. Syracuse, Robert and Kitty Herrmann of Waynesboro, VA, Barbara Herrmann of Liverpool, Douglas Herrmann of E. Syracuse, Patricia and Bill Boylan of Mattydale and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a sister Jane Herrmann. Funeral services will be held at the Johnson Funeral Home, Dexter Tuesday 11:00 a.m. with the Rev. Patricia Walz of Dexter United Methodist Church officiating. Burial will be in Sanford Corners Cemetery, Calcium at the convenience of the family. Calling hours will be Monday from 2-4 and 7-9 P.M.
