Jeanette M. Craig, 81, formerly of Carthage and a resident at the Samaritan Keep Nursing Home passed August 4, 2017 at the Samaritan Medical Center. There will be no calling hours or funeral service.  A private graveside service will take place at the convenience of the family.

She was born on July 27, 1936 in NYC, NY, daughter of Harwood and Elberta (Boag) Gifford.

She worked as a waitress at Woolworth's Restaurant and Pete's Restaurant, both in Watertown.  Jeanette then owned and operated Jen's Diner in Watertown for 25 years.

She married Marshal Massey and the marriage ended in divorce.  She then married Roy Craig.

She enjoyed fishing, cooking and spending time with family.

Among her survivors are a daughter and son-in-law, Barbara J. and Sean D. Huff, Carthage; a son and his companion, Scott M. Massey and Lorrie McFarland, Pillar Point; four stepchildren, Mark and Cathy Craig, Wayne and Donna Craig, Marsha and John Gosier, Karen and Richard Axenfeld; four grandchildren, Jena, Carlton, Katie and Keegan; a brother, Bernard Gifford, Colorado Springs; a sister and brother-in-law, Mary and Walt Vaeth, Dexter; several nieces and nephews.

Besides her husband Roy Craig, a son Jon Massey died before her.
