Jerry L. Palmer, age 71, of Rutland, died Saturday, April 19, 2014 at Samaritan Keep of Watertown, NY. Jerry was born December 11, 1942 in Dexter, the son of Charles and Dorothy Olmstead Palmer. He attended school at General Brown. Jerry was a truckdriver for St. Lawrence Freightways, Raymond & Coseette Trucking of Fargo, N.D. and drove dump-truck for Jefferson County Highway Dept. Jerry is survived by his daughter Jerilynn (James) Mahon of Dexter, two grandchildren, four great grandchildren, a brother Ronald Palmer of California and a sister Dorothy Palmer of Watertown and his companion Patricia Waddington of Black River and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents, a sister Nancy Palmer. A graveside service will be held Wednesday April 30th at 11:00 a.m. at the Dexter Cemetery. Donations may be made to the American Diabetes Foundation. Arrangements are with Johnson Funeral Home, Dexter. .
