JoAnne M. Dekin, age 60 of Morris Tract Rd. County Rte. 125, Chaumont, passed away at her home Tuesday 1:29 A.M. JoAnne was born August 14, 1954 in Oswego, N.Y. the daughter of Joseph Bush and Aretta Hall Bush Donovan. She attended school in Oswego at Catholic and Public Schools. She married Robert N. Dekin on April 19, 1978 in Chaumont. She was self-employed as manager of Apartments owned by the couple in Brownville and Watertown. She was very active in the "Makin' Tracks 4-H Group and trained horses and taught people to ride. Surviving is her husband Robert, daughters Mrs. Peter Amie Orvis of Chaumont and their children Elijah, Grace and Isaac; Carrie and Russell Lohr of Oklahoma City, OK and her children Ashley Kalk of Chaumont and Alexander Kalk of Oklahoma City, Stepdaughters Rhonda McVey and Laurie Dekin of Newton, Mass., Stepdaughter Robin and David Abbass of Seal Beach, California (formerly of Carthage) and their children Elisha Peck of Raleigh, NC., Tyler Abbass of Ft. Worth, Texas, Jordan Abbass of Seal Beach, Calif., Stepson Michael Dekin of Watertown and his children Matthew of Florida, Jessica Dekin and Mariah Dekin of Watertown. She has four sisters: Kathryn Smegelsky of Oswego, Debra and Leroy Healy of Raeford, NC. Candee Bush of Oswego and Roxanne Bushand her spouse James Benzing of Arizona. Numerous nieces, nephews and great grandchildren also survive. A memorial celebration of life will be held at a date to be announced at the Christian Life Center of Chaumont with Pastor James Hayes officiating.
