John A. Dorr, age 82 of County Rte. 54, Dexter passed away Wednesday evening at Samaritan Medical Center, Watertown. John was born November 6, 1930 in Watertown, the son of Carl and Marthe Bagard Dorr. He graduated from Brownville High School and served in the Army from 1954-1956. John married Marion L. Price in 1954 at Sackets Harbor. The couple lived in Limerick where John owned and operated Dorr's Body Shop. He was a member of the Smith Savage Post 583 American Legion and Dexter Free and Accepted Masons Lodge #1072. He is survived by his wife Marion, two daughters: Mrs. Michael (Karen) Christie of Watertown and Mrs. William (Judy) Lilley of LeGrande, Oregon. He has two grandchildren. A son Geoff passed away in 2009. A memorial service will be held Monday 11:00 a.m. Monday at the Johnson Funeral Home, Dexter with Rev. Douglas Marlowe officiating. Burial will be in Brownville Cemetery. Donations may be made to the S.P.C.A. of Jefferson County or Parkinson's disease Memorial Foundation.
