Obituary

Glen Park John F. Martindale 84 of 717 Main St. passed away 4/13/2016 at Hospice House. Born August 12, 1931 he was a son of Emily and George Martindale of Dearborn, Michigan. He enlisted in the U.S. Army May 6, 1948 at the age of 16. His military service included action in the Korean Campaign, and he was honorably discharged at the rank of Sergeant First Class on April 15, 1952. On February 23rd, 1952 he married Frances Cook of Glen Park at the former Glen Park Methodist Church. John's employment included many years with the former Major News Agency of Watertown as Assistant Manager and later with the former Piazza Construction of Watertown, Surviving besides his wife are a daughter Diane (Peter) Habershaw of Perch Lake Road, sons John of Florida, Randy of Georgia, Terry of Adams, and Edward of Clayton. He has two sisters: Patricia (Ronald) Kendra of Westland, Michigan and Virginia (Cedric) Wood of Layton, Utah, a sister-in-law Kathryn Cook of California, several grandchildren and nieces and nephews. There will be a graveside service Thursday April 21st at the Brownville Cemetery, Brownville, NY with Rev. Sally Buyea officiating. There are no calling hours or funeral. Arrangements are with Johnson Funeral Home, Dexter. Donations may be made to Hospice 1398 Gotham St. Watertown, NY 13601.
