CALCIUM, N.Y. — John J. O'Hara, 83, of 25936 Bush Road, passed Monday, Sept. 16, at Samaritan Medical Center, Watertown. Calling hours will be 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 19, at Hart & Bruce Funeral Home, Watertown. There will be no funeral service. A graveside service will be 10 a.m. Friday, Sept. 20, in Glenwood Cemetery. Born Aug. 28, 1930, in St. Lawrence County, he served in the US Army during the Korean Conflict and He married Betty Jean Lomas on May 11, 1951, at the Scotch Church in Madrid. She passed March 6, 1992. Mr. O'Hara worked at James River Paper Co. in Brownville for 32 years retiring in 1992. He married Barbara Chase on September 28, 1995, in the town of Pamelia. Among his survivors are his loving wife of 18 years, Barbara J. O'Hara, Calcium; two sons and a daughter-in-law, John J. "Jack" and Katherina O'Hara Jr., Stockton, N.C., and Dale W. O'Hara, Black River; three daughters and two sons-in-law, Trudy Thompson, Phoenix, Ariz., Tammy and Leslie Wager, Dexter, Tina and Craig Monaco, Adams; a stepson and his wife, Robert and April Premo Jr., New Port, N.H.; a stepdaughter, Vicki Lobdell, Watertown; several grandchildren and great great grandchildren; a sister, Catherine O'Hara, Watertown; nieces and nephews. A son James F. O'Hara died at birth in 1959, a brother, Bernard O'Hara, and a sister, Margaret Young, also passed before him. Donations may be made to the American Lung Association.
