Jolan "Thelma" Viscotha, age 108 of E. Bradley St., Dexter passed away at 3:16 a.m. at Hospice of Jefferson County, Watertown. Jolan was born April 3, 1904 in Tur-Terebes, Hungary the daughter of Charles and Barbara Simon Helmetsie. The family came to Dexter when she was very young. She graduated from Dexter High School. Jolan married Joseph Viscotha on April 4, 1926 in Dexter. Mr. Viscotha passed away October 25, 1976. Jolan was a member of the Dexter United Presbyterian Church. She is survived by her sister Katherine Hyde of Dexter, nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a brother Frank Hyde. Funeral services will be Tuesday 11:00 a.m. at the Johnson Funeral Home, Dexter with Rev. Gail Parsons of Dexter United Presbyterian Church officiating. Burial will be in Dexter Cemetery in the spring. Donations may be made to Dexter United Presbyterian Church.
