Joseph W. Martine, age 98 of Chestnut St. Watertown passed away Sunday evening at Samaritan Medical Center. Joseph was born November 23, 1907 in Dexter. He was the son of Joseph and Verna Stankovic Martiney. He graduated from Dexter High School in 1925. He served in the Army during World War 11. He was a Public Accountant in the Woolworth Building, Watertown and also had several rental properties. He married Bertha Lake on May 23, 1964 in Watertown. She died September 27, 2003. He is survived by nieces and nephews of which are Dorothy Krakowka Kern, George Krakowka, and Josephine Threlkeld. Great nephew James Sitterly and great niece Nancy Replogle; all from various states across the country. He was predeceased by a brother Alexander. A graveside service will be held Friday 11:00 a.m. at Brookside Cemetery, Watertown with the Rev. Bruce Smith, pastor of Stone Presbyterian Church officiating. There are no calling hours. Arrangements are with Johnson Funeral Home, Dexter.
