Joshua Devin Richards, 26, of Watertown, NY, passed away peacefully on May 3, 2026, at his home, surrounded by his beloved family and under the care of Hospice of Jefferson County.
He was born on September 11, 1999, in Vicksburg, Mississippi, the son of Addison Mack and Jennifer (Ivey) Richards.
Joshua attended Watertown High School and, following his education, held various jobs throughout the local area. He had a deep love for the outdoors and especially enjoyed spending time by the river. Joshua also had a passion for travel and journeyed across the country over the years, keeping a map to mark all the places he visited. Along the way, he formed many meaningful connections and cherished the people he met.
An avid cook, Joshua took great pride in preparing meals from scratch and found joy in sharing food with his family and friends. Above all, he valued the time he spent with those closest to him.
He is survived by his father, Mack Richards of Watertown, NY; two brothers, Brandon Ivey of Idaho and Jacob Richards of Watertown, NY; his sister and brother-in-law, Morgan and Jacob Bedsole of Arkansas; his uncle, Damon Ivey of South Carolina; his cousin, Ashley L Baker of Mississippi; his Godmother, Heather Wheeler of Jacksonville, FL; his beloved girlfriend, Amanda Simmons of South Carolina and his closest and dearest friends, Darvin Mitchell of Watertown, NY and Samantha Clevenger of California. He is also survived by several aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephews.
Joshua was predeceased by his loving mother, Jennifer Richards; his maternal grandfather, Danny Ivey; his maternal grandmother, Patricia Hurst; his paternal grandfather, Addison Mack Richards, Sr.; and his paternal grandmother, Patsy Richards Hays.
Arrangements are with the Hart & Bruce Funeral Home.
