Obituary

Juanita L. Villeneuve, 59, of Watertown, NY, and formerly of Henderson, NY, passed away peacefully on October 24, 2026, at Westchester Medical Center in Valhalla, NY.

She was born on July 31, 1967, in Watertown, NY, the daughter of Louis G. and Anna J. (Ramus) Villeneuve. Juanita graduated from Belleville Henderson High School, where she enjoyed participating in sports, especially softball.

Throughout her life, Juanita held various jobs, but one of her favorites was managing Elite Tanning in Watertown alongside her sister, Tina. She also worked at Walmart on Arsenal Street in Watertown for several years until becoming disabled.

Juanita was a carefree, fun-loving person with a generous heart and a spirited personality. She was always willing to go out of her way to help others, often putting their needs before her own. She had a playful sense of humor and loved saying or doing things just to get a rise out of someone and see their reaction. She believed in living life to the fullest and often shared her favorite words of wisdom: “Life is too short. Enjoy it, and don’t take life for granted. You never know when your options are taken away.”

Juanita had a special love for red roses, dolphins, and angels. She will be remembered for her kindness, her humor, her carefree spirit, and the love she shared with her family and friends.

Among her survivors are her sister and brother-in-law, Tina and Ross Steele of Adams Center, NY; two brothers, Austin Villeneuve and his wife, Debbie, of Florida and Troy Villeneuve of Henderson, NY.

She was predeceased by her beloved parents and two brothers, Louis and Joseph Villeneuve.

Arrangements are with the Hart & Bruce Funeral Home, Watertown, NY. In keeping with Juanita’s wishes, she will be cremated. A celebration of her life will be held at the Adams American Legion, on November 14th from Noon to 3 p.m. Please dress casual. She will be laid to rest in the Adams Rural Cemetery at the convenience of the family.

The family wishes to express their heartfelt gratitude to the dedicated staff at Roswell Park Cancer Center in Buffalo and the Samaritan Walker Cancer Center in Watertown for the exceptional care and compassion Juanita received throughout her cancer journey. Through their care, she was blessed with four cancer-free years. Sadly, despite her strength and determination, she ultimately passed away due to organ failure.

The family would also like to extend their sincere appreciation to the doctors, nurses, and staff at Westchester Medical Center in Valhalla for their tireless efforts, kindness, and compassion in doing everything possible for Juanita during her final days.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Juanita’s memory may be made to a charity of one’s choice.

The family warmly invites relatives and friends to share a favorite memory, special story, or heartfelt tribute to Juanita in the online guestbook at www.hartandbrucefh.com.

May the road rise up to meet you.

May the wind be always at your back.

May the sun shine warm upon your face;

the rains fall soft upon your fields

and until we meet again,

may God hold you in the palm of His hand.
