Obituary

June S. Hackett, age 63 of Grove St., Dexter passed away Sunday morning at the home of her daughter Lisa VanBrocklin, Foster Park Rd. Dexter. She had been under the care of her family and Hospice of Jefferson County. June was born July 20, 1943 in Lake Placid, the daughter of Gordon and Marion Wells Sears. She graduated from Lake Placid Central High School in 1961. She later graduated from Mildred Elly Secretarial School in Albany. She moved to Dexter in 1966. A marriage to Wilson S. Hackett ended in divorce. She worked as a Legal Assistant for Doldo & Netto P.C. of Watertown until becoming ill. She was a member and Secretary/Treasurer of Dexter Fire Department and Auxiliary, Dexter Citizens Committee, Youth Commission of Dexter, Dexter Chamber of Commerce, Dexter Riverfest, Frontier Housing, and the Dexter United Methodist Church. She is survived by 3 children and their spouses; Mrs. David Lisa VanBrocklin of Dexter, William and Patricia Hackett of Lagrangeville, N.Y. and Mark and Katherine Hackett of Arvada, Colorado. She is also survived by her mother Marion Sears of Lake Placid, a brother Gordon Sears of Oswego, N.Y. and three grandchildren and aunts and nieces. A memorial service will be held Wednesday evening 7:00 PM at the Dexter United Methodist Church with the Rev. Helen Hadley, pastor officiating. Burial will be in Dexter Cemetery. There will be no calling hours. Donations may be made to Hospice of Jefferson County, Dexter United Methodist Church or Dexter Fire and Ambulance Dept. Arrangements are with Johnson Funeral Home, Dexter.
