Obituary

Kenneth E. Cote Sr., "Ken", 80, of Zephryhills, Fla., and formerly of Dexter, passed away peacefully Sunday, Sept. 13. He was born on February 2, 1929, in Tupper Lake, N.Y., he was the son of the late David and Dora Cote. Ken attended Dexter High School. He was the owner of a Mobil Station and part owner of the Black River Bay Campgrounds in Dexter, N.Y. Since 1988, Ken attended the New River Church of Zephyrhills, Fla. and worked at the Church Flea Market for many years. He was very handy at making things and was always willing to help anyone. Survived by his wife of 62 years, Uberyl (Winegar) Cote, Zephryhills, Fla.; four brothers, Walter, Richard, Leonard and Charles; one sister, Shirley Newtown; six children, Ellen Johnson, Patricia LeFebvre, Brenda Cean, Karen Meade, Kenneth Cote Jr, and Steven Cote; eleven grand-children; and seven great grand-children. A sister, Julia Heise of Dexter, preceded him in death. A service will be held at the Johnson Funeral Home in Dexter, N.Y. on October 3, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. with a burial following at the Dexter Cemetery. He will be greatly missed. Ken was a friend to all that knew him. He spent his last days in a Hospice Center where he was cared for by family and staff.
