Obituary

Kenneth W. Covey, age 80 of Fulton, Missouri died Thursday morning at his home. He had been under the care of Hospice. He was born April 18, 1926 in Carthage, the son of Clifford and Florence Besaw Covey. He attended school in the Carthage area. He married Eunice M. Chamberlain on November 22, 1947 at the Dexter United Methodist Church Parsonage. The couple lived all their married lives in Limerick. Eunice died July 27, 1990. Mr. Covey was a laborer for Ador and Booth Construction Co. of Watertown until he retired in 1989. He moved to Missouri in the early 1990's. He was an avid woodworker and enjoyed carving and hunting and watching birds. Surviving are two sons and their wives. Roger and Dawn Covey of Chaumont and Stephen and Janelle Covey of Dexter. He has nine grandchildren and six great grandchildren. He also has a brother Clifford Covey Jr. of Carthage and two sisters Wilma Covey Rivers of Carthage and Marion Covey Weir of Springdale, Arkansas. He has several nieces and nephews. He also is survived by his companion of several years Dorothy Foster. He was predeceased by brothers Carlton and Robert Covey and a sister Bernice Card. A graveside service will be held at a time to be announced in Brownville Cemetery. There will be no calling hours. Donations may be made to Hospice of Jefferson County. Arrangements are with Johnson Funeral Home, Dexter.
