CHAUMONT, NY - Kenneth (Ken) Hills, 92, passed away on Friday, September 9th surrounded by family at Samaritan Medical Center. Ken was born on October 6, 1923 in Greg, NY. He spent a good amount of his life working the farm, but retired from his favorite job as the Head Custodian at Lyme Central School. Kenneth married Virginia (Ginny) Sweeney at Holy Family Church in Watertown, NY on February 20, 1946. Ginny passed away May 11, 2016. Ken was predeceased by his sisters Catherine Engle and Betty Bretch. He is survived by his sister Lula Mezo, Florida, five children, daughter Cheri Mahon and husband Gerald; son Peter and his wife Nicole, Arizona; son Timothy and his late wife Deborah; son Ricky and his wife Richelle and daughter Lisa Warren and her fiancé Timothy Collins. He is also survived by grandchildren Diana, Darla, Christine, Jefferson, Kenneth, Amy, Robert, Tina, Heather, Sara, Matthew, Mikayla, Morgan, Bethany and Leah, 20 great grandchildren, and 10 great-great grandchildren. Ken was a very generous, strong, active, and creative man all his life. Ken loved his family and had a great love for the Lord that lead him to work with the Christian Life Center of Chaumont, NY which lead him to missionary trips to Mexico, Israel, and the Philippines, weekly visits to the local nursing homes and helping countless other people throughout the years. Ken also loved riding horses and training them. His hobbies included a great number of activities like wood working, painting, helping his son Rick on the farm and many other hobbies. A private memorial service will be offered at Calvary Cemetery for the immediate family. Donations may be made in his name to the Christian Life Center, 12749 NYS RT 12E, Chaumont, NY 13622.
