WATERTOWN, N.Y. — Lana L. Rogers, 57, of 435 S. Hycliff St., Watertown, NY, passed May 31 at Samaritan Medical Center. Born Dec. 25, 1957, in Sayre, PA, the daughter of Howard and Hila Beers Furman, she attended South Jeff High School. Following school she married Robert Lavancha Jr. on Nov. 27, 1976. She was a homemaker and worked for Lewis County Department of Social Services as a home health aid. Her husband passed March 28, 1986. She married Philip Rogers of Sackets Harbor on Dec. 3, 1988. She assisted her husband on his farm and continued to work as a home health aide for various businesses in Jefferson County. She later became a bus driver for Thousand Islands School District and transferred to Belleville Henderson School District in 1999, retiring in 2004 due to disability. She also volunteered as a doula coach in Central New York assisting several military families. Among her survivors are her husband, Philip N. Rogers, Watertown; her mother and father, Howard and Hila Furman, Henderson, NY; three sons and two daughters in law, James and Amy Lavancha, GA, Christopher Lavancha, Watertown, David and Kelly Lavancha, Jordan, NY; two daughters and a son in law, Rebecca and Jesse Crifasi, NC, Ona Lavancha, Watertown; a stepdaughter, Hanna Rogers, Watertown; a step son, Robert Lavancha III, FL; a sister and brother-in-law, Phoebe and Colt Chrisman, Henderson, NY; five brothers and four sisters-in-law, Matt and Cindy Furman, Ithaca,NY, Jim and Cindy Furman, Warsaw, NY, John and Louann Furman, VA, Howard and Mary Furman Jr., Henderson, NY, and Mark and Jen Furman, Champlain, NY; 12 grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. Arrangements are with the Hart & Bruce Funeral Home, Watertown. All services will be held privately and at the convenience of the family.
