Laurence B. Burke, 87 of 115 Washington Place, Sackets Harbor, NY, died Saturday in the Samaritan Medical Center, Watertown, NY. Born in Boston, Massachusetts, he was the son of the late Jack and Margaret (Bracken) Burke. He graduated from Saranac Lake High School, attended Holy Cross and Pratt Institute of Technology and graduated from RCA Institute of Technology of New York City in 1950. He served in the Army from 1942 until 1945 with the 8th Airborne in England. Mr. Burke married Marie L.Cowton January 17, 1943 at St. John Baptist Church, N.Y.C. He was a Radio Television Engineer, employed by WSLB of Ogdensburg, WMSA of Massena, WWNY of Watertown and retired from WTNY of Watertown in 1984. He enjoyed sailing with his wife all over Lake Ontario. Survived by his wife: Marie L. Burke of Sackets Harbor and two daughters; Margaret Burke Bulson of Cuba, N.Y. and Patricia Burke Earley of Charlotte, N.C. He also has six grandchildren and three great grandchildren surviving. A private graveside service will be held at the convenience of the family. Burial will be in Lakeside Cemetery, Sackets Harbor. There are no calling hours.
