Obituary

Leon A. Lortie, age 75 of Pine St. Glen Park passed away Sunday morning at his home. He was born February 12, 1932 in Watertown, the son of Carl and Vida Rose Lortie. He attended Mexico High School and graduated from Brownville Glen Park High School. He married C. Louise Christopher in January of 1951. He has resided in Glen Park all his married life. He worked as a well-driller for several years and then retired from Watertown International Airport where he was Sr. Maintenance Foreman. He was a member of Glen Park Fire Dept. and Brownville Masons where he was currently Treasurer. He is survived by his wife Louise and three children and their spouses: Roy and Sandy Lortie of Liverpool, Bruce and Cathy Lortie of Watertown and Cindy and Robert Griffith of Smithville. He also has two grandchildren and a sister Carol Kirch of Lowville. A brother Frank Lortie predeceased him. A memorial service will be held Saturday 11:00 a.m. at the Johnson Funeral Home, Dexter with the Glen Park Fire Dept. and Brownville Masonic Lodge providing services. He will be cremated. There are no calling hours. Donations in lieu of flowers may be made to Hospice of Jefferson County or the Glen Park Fire Dept.
