Leroy C. Sprague Jr., age 54 of Lee Road, Dexter passed away at his residence on Tuesday morning under the care of his family and Hospice of Jefferson County. Leroy was born December 28, 1959 in Watertown, the son of Leroy and Nancy Bush Sprague Sr. He graduated from General Brown Central School. Leroy last worked at Longways Truck Stop where he was a Fuel Pump Attendant and had previously worked for Cota Flooring. He retired due to health in 2009. He was an avid fisherman. Leroy is survived by his mother Nancy Sprague of Dexter, a brother Randall L. Sprague of Dexter, his companion Candace LaJoie, a daughter Sara Sprague of Raleigh, N.C., two nieces and three nephews. He was predeceased by his father Leroy Sr., brothers Roger, Mark and Stephen Sprague. A funeral service will be held on Thursday at 2:00 P.M. at the Johnson Funeral Home, Dexter. Burial will be in New Cedar Grove Cemetery, Chaumont. Donations may be made to Hospice of Jefferson County 1398 Gotham St., Watertown, N.Y. 13601.
