Linda M. Andrus, 81, of Dexter, NY, passed away peacefully on March 17, 2026, at Samaritan Medical Center.

She was born on March 25, 1944, in Boston, Massachusetts, the daughter of Walter J. and Nelly (Owirka) Baronas Sr. Linda graduated from Dorchester High School in 1961.

She went on to work as a finance officer at State Street Bank in Quincy, Massachusetts for many years. She married Arthur Sutherland in Brockton, Massachusetts.  He predeceased her in 1992. Linda later moved to Watertown, NY, to be closer to her family and worked for a short time at Massey's Furniture Barn.

Linda enjoyed cooking, arts and crafts, and ceramics, and cherished time spent with her family.

She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Mark and Carole Sutherland of Brownville, NY; her daughter, Laura Sutherland Bassett and her husband Paul; six grandchildren, Samantha, Rachael, and Jessica Sutherland, Paul Bassett Jr., Sophia Bassett, and Amanda Bassett and her partner Courtney; one great-granddaughter, Aleeyah; and her sister, Susan Overton of Taunton, Massachusetts.

In addition to her parents and her husband, she was predeceased by her sister, Regina Regan, and her brother, Walter Baronas Jr.

Arrangements are with Hart & Bruce Funeral Home. In keeping with her wishes, Linda will be cremated, and burial will take place at the convenience of the family in Blue Hills Cemetery, Braintree, Massachusetts.
