Obituary

Lucy A. Majo, 78, of Loomus Drive, passed Thursday, January 15, at her home after a prolonged illness.

Born April 13, 1936, in Watertown a daughter of Alfonso and Rose Giordanelli, she graduated in 1953 from Watertown High School.

She married Paul K. Majo on April 24, 1954, at St. Anthony's Church with Monsignor Claude Sechi officiating.

Paul served in the Air Force where Paul and Lucy moved extensively during their Air Force career retiring in 1974 after 22 years of military service.  During his service they were stationed all over the United States, Germany, and Africa.

After their retirement, Lucy was employed with Caldwell Banker in Watertown for a few years prior to starting her own real-estate company, Rainbow Properties.  From 1985 till 1999 they lived in Woodbridge, VA where Lucy excelled at selling commercial property for Caldwell Banker.  They moved back to Watertown in 1999.

She enjoyed dabbling in real-estate and stocks, reading, cooking, visiting with friends, being with her relatives and grandchildren whom she cherished.

Surviving are two sons and a daughter-in-law, Robert and Elaine Majo, Adams Center, Thomas Majo, Watertown; five sisters and a brother-in-law, Mary Gaus, Barbara Giordanelli, Jenny Tufo, all of Watertown, Gracie Flynn, Scarsdale, NY, Anne-Marie and George Grantez, Bedford, NH; a brother, Frank Giordanelli, Watertown; two brothers-in-law, Edward "Skip" Devine, Clay, NY and Clarence "Joe" Loveland, Black River; a sister-in-law and her husband, Sally and Dennis Risk, Sun City Center, FL; five grandchildren, Jonathan, Sean, Gregory, Jessica, and Joseph; four great grandchildren, Kaylie, Emmalyn, Alexander, Luca, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Two sisters, Theresa Delaney and Louise Devine and two brothers, Joseph and Michael Giordanelli all passed before her.

Calling hours will be 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday, January 22nd at the Hart & Bruce Funeral Home.

A prayer service will be held 9:15 a.m. Saturday, January 24th , at the funeral home with a 10 a.m. funeral Mass at St. Patrick's Church with Rev. Donald Robinson officiating.  Burial will be in Glenwood Cemetery.

A celebration of life will follow at the Italian American Club on Bellew Ave. at 12:00 p.m.
