Lyle Clifford Fleming, 93, of 26446 County RT. 32, Evans Mills, passed away March 31, 2018 at the Samaritan Summit Village where he had been a resident.

He was born on February 26, 1925, in Theresa, son of Wallace W. and Florence M. Slyck Fleming.  He attended school in Evans Mills.

On July 18, 1946, he married Eleanor Mae Bacon Fleming at the home of her parents in Evans Mills.

Mr. and Mrs. Fleming took over her parents' dairy farm in 1946 where they farmed for 41 years and raised their family of six.  Lyle also drove school bus for the Indian River Central School district for 10 years.  After retiring the couple spent winters in Florida until 2010.

Survivors include two daughters and son-in-law's, Rhonda (David) Reese, Watertown, Nancy (Larry) Hand, Evans Mills; four sons and daughter-in-law's, Lee (Joy) Fleming, Alan (Mary) Fleming, Kent (Teresa) Fleming, all of Evans Mills, and Roger (Betty) Fleming, China Grove, NC.; one sister, Luella Fleming Riordan, Pamelia, and two nephews.

Seven grandchildren, Aaron (Jessica) Fleming, David (Bryana) Fleming, Alan Fleming Jr., Daniel Fleming, Kathryn (Steve) Puccia, Nathan (Samantha) Fleming and Stephen Fleming.

Eight great grandchildren, Madison and Mason Fleming, Steven, Anthony, Alexander and Ethan Puccia, Alan (AJ) and Liam Fleming.

Besides his parents, Lyle was predeceased by a grandson Kevin L. Fleming.

As per Mr. Fleming's wishes, there will be no calling hours.  A graveside service at Evans Mills Cemetery will be at the convenience of his family.

Arrangements are with the Hart & Bruce Funeral Home, Watertown.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Evans Mills Ambulance Squad or to St. Jude's Children's Hospital.
