Obituary

Lynn M. Calhoun, 65, of Watertown, passed away unexpectedly on April 20, 2026, at Samaritan Medical Center.

Lynn M. Calhoun, née Clough, was born on April 24, 1960, in Watertown, New York, the daughter of Kenneth and Marilyn (Singleton) Clough. She attended Watertown High School.

She married Edward Calhoun on December 2, 1983, which ended in divorce.

Lynn held various jobs throughout the local area before dedicating 25 years of her career to Car-Freshner Corporation, where she formed many lifelong friendships such as Lisa Jones, David Jones, Lila Burns, Sandy Roberts, Joann Morgia, Kathy Jobson and Betty Mead and countless others that meant the world to her.

Lynn also earned an Associate Degree as a Veterinary Technician Specialist as a hobby, reflecting her deep love for animals. She spent countless hours volunteering at local animal shelters where her kindness and training made a lasting impact.

Lynn will be remembered for her thoughtful, caring, and giving nature. She had a quiet strength and a kind heart, always making others feel seen, valued, and loved. Her generosity, compassion, and unwavering support touched the lives of many, and she will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

She is survived by her loving daughter, Christy Hedgcorth; two grandchildren, Dominick Flecker (Brianna) and Ashleigh Hedgcorth; as well as two great-grandchildren, Luna and Theo Flecker. She is also survived by her siblings, Tammy Smith (and her companion, Woody); Brian Earl (Barb); Michael Earl (Darline); Kelly Earl (Rena); Dr. Kenneth J. Clough (Maura); Kimberly Karikas (late Mark); Joseph Clough; Karen McCarthy (James); Theresa Frey (Keith); Michele Zirilli (Brian); Christine Kanawada; David Clough (Ashley); and Daniel Clough (Kate); as well as several nieces and nephews; her lifelong best friend, Kathy Medina and her beloved animals, Charlie and Mari.

She was predeceased by her parents, Kenneth Clough and Marilyn Earl; her stepfather, Roger Earl; her grandparents, Henry and Dorothy Singleton; her uncle, Terry Singleton; her aunt, Sally Garland; her beloved companion, Fuller "Chip" Brown; and a lifetime of cherished animals.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Hart & Bruce Funeral Home. In keeping with her wishes, she will be cremated, and a celebration of life may be held at a later date at the family's wishes.

As there will be no formal services, flowers are respectfully declined. In honor of Lynn's love for animals, donations may be made to any animal shelter of your choice.
