Obituary

Marguerite (Burciul) Rosette, 83, formally of Black River, passed away peacefully in her daughter's home on December 9, 2016.  She was surrounded by her loving family. She had been under the care of her family and Hospice of Jefferson County.  She was born May 11, 1933 in Niagara Falls, Ontario. She married Donald Rosette on January 15, 1955 in Niagara Falls, Canada.  The couple resided throughout the US while Donald served in the US Army and Marguerite was a homemaker.  In 1969 Mr. Rosette retired from the military and the couple resided in Black River, where they raised their five children.

He passed away on December 13, 1990. Marguerite was the daughter of John and Helen (Sanduleac) Burciul. She was one of 16 children and is survived by 6 siblings including her Brothers Peter and Jimmy and Sisters Gloria, Georgina, Rosie, and Sylvia.

Marguerite was a warm, witty and caring lady. Over the years she enjoyed being a housekeeper to many families in the Black River area. Marguerites most enjoyable moments were playing bingo and spending time playing cards with her family. Her family, including her children and her grandchildren, have always been her greatest joys in life. She will truly be missed by all for her spunky personality, beautiful sense of humor, and many words of wisdom.

She is survived by four sons and three daughters in law Edward (Michelle) Rosette Babb, Montana, Donald Dean Rosette Niagara Falls, NY, Michael (Jill) Rosette, Brownville, NY, Charlie (Kerri) Rosette Nashville, TN, and her daughter and son in law Ruth (Pete) Powell, Brownville, NY. Grandchildren to include Annabelle Rosette, Ellie Rosette, Jessica Rosette, Cheyne (Stewart) Nicholas, Kristi (Joe Jerome) Rosette, Kylie Rosette, Taylor Rosette, Katie Rosette, Jacob Powell, Laura Powell, Derrick Schmitte and Sarah Douglas. Great grandchildren to include Nikolas, Makai, Lyla, Gavin and Abigail. She is survived by many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her siblings Annie, Mike, Paul, Mary, Gabe, John, George, Edward, and (infant) George.

She was definitely one of a kind. She still kept her warm and sweet charm right up to the end. She brought so much joy to her family with her forever present sense of humor. Heaven surely gained a special angel with Marguerite.
