Marie Gould Sackets Harbor- Marie W. Gould, 82, of Sackets Harbor, passed away Friday, May 13, 2016, at Summit Samaritan Village, where she was a resident. Mrs. Gould was born September 20, 1933 to Wilson and Evelyn Doane, Sackets Harbor. She graduated from Sackets Harbor High School in 1951. Marie married Gerald Gould in December of 1978. She worked at Woolworth's in Watertown until she retired. Marie was passionate and enthusiastic for life. She loved Sackets Harbor and all things related to it. Marie was an avid follower of the Sackets Harbor Marching Band and Boys Basketball team. Hardly missing parades and games when she was well. She was very active in local bowling leagues, played golf and passionately loved the NY Yankees. She was preceded in death by her husband, Gerry, in 1995, as well as her siblings, Donald, Raymond, Robert and Dorothy. She is survived by her daughter and her son in law, Mary and Jack Weston, Sackets Harbor;her son and daughter in law, Dale and Jana Backus, Dallas, Texas, and sister in law, Betty Doane, Felts Mills. Marie has6 grandchildren, Stacey Linkroum, Bill Weston, Jacqueline Kloster, David Backus, Duncan Backus and Tanner Backus. She was blessed with 11 great grandchildren and had many nieces and nephews. She fought a brave battle with Alzheimer's disease. Those wishing to make donations in her memory, may do so to the Alzheimer's Association. A private family service will be held on Friday May 20 at 11:00 a.m. at Lakeview Cemetery in Sackets Harbor.
