Obituary

Marion Gilman of Wiliam St. Dexter, 95,died Sunday evening at the Samartan Keep Nursing Home.She had been a patient for the last 6 years. Calling hours will be Wednesday 2-4 and 7-9 At the Johnson Funeral Home, Dexter.The Funeral has been Scheduled Tentetively at 11 a.m. at the funeral home with the Rev. Helen Hadley pastor of the Dexter United Methodist Church,Dexter. She was a member of The Dexter United Methodist Church,The Dexter Grange,Dexter Senior Citizens,Order of the Eastern Star And a past member of the White Shrine. She was Born on October 11, 1911 in the Town of Pickney.The Daughter of Charles and Adelia Borland Priest Potter. She attended school in New Boston.After leaving school she married CarlAppell in the 1940's.Marion and her husband worked on several farms in the Clayton and Cape Vincent area.He died in 1960.She worked at the Bathing suit factory until her marriage to Wesley Gilman. They were married on August 5,1961.at the Theresa United Methodist Church with the Rev.A.Howard Gabriel officiating.She continued working in Clayton until the couple purchased their home in Dexter.She then went to work for the Brownville Paper Co.She retired in 1968. Besides her husband she is survived by a daughter Patricia Brazzel,Watertown. Several Grand and Great grand Children. Predeceased by a son Carlton L. Zellar and a sister Lillian Terrill. She loved Croching,Knitting and Altering Clothes.
