Mary F. Dishaw, 86, of 102 Beaumont Ave., Black River, passed December 21, 2014 at the Samaritan Medical Center.

Calling hours will be held Tuesday, December 23 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the Bruce Funeral Home, Black River.

A  prayer service will be at 9 a.m. Wednesday, December 24 at the Bruce Funeral Home followed by a 10 a.m. funeral mass at the Sacred Heart Church, Watertown.  Burial will then be in the Black River Cemetery.

Born on June 17, 1928 in Cornwall, Ontario, Canada, daughter of Charles and Edna Leclair Trudell, she attended school in Canada. She and her family moved to Massena at an early age and she became a US Citizen in 1950.

She married Charles V. Dishaw of Massena at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Massena, NY.  The couple settled in Black River in 1977 where she was a homemaker.  Her husband passed October 11, 1992.

Mary was an avid reader and enjoyed crocheting, knitting, cooking, watching her favorite tv shows, especially Shirley Temple and Christmas movies.

Among her survivors are her two sons, a daughter in law and a son in law; Robert C. and Darlene K. (Bush) Dishaw, Black River, Francis J. Dishaw and his husband, Thomas B. Bair, Black River, several nieces and nephews.

She had two brothers, Leonard and Robert Trudell who passed before her.
