MARY WILLIAMS, 75 Mary Hawley Williams, 75, of Delray Beach, Florida, formerly of Washington, DC and Watertown, NY, died suddenly on September 19, 2014, at Delray Medical Center. Born September 25, 1938 in Governeur, NY, she is predeceased by her parents, Edison and Evelyn (Quail) Hawley of Watertown, NY. Mary was a loving Mother, Grandmother, and Aunt.
Mary was a 1956 graduate of Immaculate Heart Academy in Watertown. Following graduation, she attended Rochester Institute of Technology. Mary spent the majority of her professional career in various positions as a sales and marketing professional in the Washington DC area culminating in being named Vice-President of a major computer hardware sales and service firm. After she left the high tech field, she moved to Chestertown, MD and opened an interior design company. In 2008, Mary retired to Harpers Ferry, WV. In 2011, she relocated to Delray Beach, FL. Mary was an avid singer, board member, and tireless supporter of the Delray Beach Chorale. Mary was a member of the Red Hat Society and also an active member of the Pines of Delray Singles Mingles Club.
Survivors include her three sons, Richard E (Linda) of Sidman, PA, Michael S (Kathy) of Harpers Ferry, WV and Christopher A (Barbara) of Annapolis, MD; and five grandchildren, Jamie, Sean, Benjamin, Elizabeth, and Colin Williams. Mary had two sisters, Juanita (Dan) Lichtenberger of Boynton Beach, FL, Muriel (Arles) Pierce of Watertown, NY, and one brother, Charles Hawley of Watertown, NY; and many loving nephews and nieces.
In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting that donations in Mary Williams name be made to Delray Beach Chorale Scholarship Program, P.O. Box 6699 Delray Beach, FL 33482… www.delraybeachchorale.org.
The funeral service will be 2 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 27 at the Hart and Bruce Funeral Home, Watertown with the Rev. Donald Robinson officiating. Burial will follow in Glenwood Cemetery.
Calling hours will be Noon to 2 p.m. Sat. at the funeral home.
