DEXTER, N.Y. Melinda M. Cummings, 66, of County Route 59, passed away Saturday morning at her home. Born Jan. 12, 1943, in Rochester, the daughter of Harrison and Helen Randall Walker, she graduated from John Marshall High School and the Rochester Business Institute. She married Russell C. Cummings on Dec. 31, 1970, in Rochester. The couple has lived in Dexter since 1972. Melinda was a devoted mother and homemaker and a member of Cat Fanciers' Club. Surviving are husband, Russell; five children: Mrs. Rick (Tina) Hathaway of Cape Vincent, Mrs. Mark (Loretta) Crandall, Black River, Michael and Rita Cummings, Boston, Mass., and Matthew and Marie Burzynski Cummings, Buffalo; five grandchildren; a brother, Steven Walker; and a sister Cynthia Kaleh, both of Rochester. A son, Christopher Glennon, died in May. A memorial service will be held 11 a.m. Tuesday at the River Community Church of Clayton, 38844 NYS Rt 12E, with Rev. Jim Lewis officiating.
