Michael L. Boyanski, age 67, of Carthage, N.Y. passed away at his home on Thursday, October 4, 2012. Michael was born February 10, 1945 in Dexter, the son of John and Clara Baderman Boyanski. He graduated from General Brown High School on June 21, 1963. He joined the United States Navy, Co 262, in September of 1963 and served until 1967. He was awarded the National Defense Service Medal. Michael worked at various paper mills after his discharge from the Navy, including Boise Cascade paper mill and later Knowlton Technologies, where he was a Beater-Tower Engineer. He was employed by Knowlton's for over twenty years, retiring in April. A previous marriage to Deborah Borland ended in divorce. He enjoyed the outdoors, especially hunting, being out in his garage, and most of all spending time with his grandchildren. Michael is survived by three children; Michael and Kelly Boyanski of Watertown, Crystal and Stephanie Boyanski of Watertown, and Patrick Boyanski of Watertown. He has five grandchildren; Colton, Raven, Brody, Noelle, and Adrianna. He is also survived by three brothers; Gary Boyanski of Dexter, William Boyanski of Brownville, and Richard Boyanski of Clayton. He was predeceased by a daughter Kimberly and several grandchildren. A private graveside service will be held at the convenience of the family in Brownville Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Heart Association or University of Rochester Paul N. Yu Heart Transplant Division; Rochester, N.Y. Arrangements are with Johnson Funeral Home, Dexter.
