Michael A. Orford, age 49, devoted husband, father and brother passed away peacefully in his sleep Saturday morning at his home on Pleasant Street , Watertown. Michael was born October 11, 1961 in Watertown, the son of Richard G. and Elizabeth Lamb Orford. He graduated from General Brown High School. He moved to Ft. Lauderdale, FL. where he married Yvonne M. Brown on August 18, 1989. The couple lived in Ft. Lauderdale, then Dexter and later to Watertown where he worked for Jefferson County BOCES as a custodian. Michael enjoyed country music, football, and drawing. He is survived by his wife Yvonne and seven brothers and sisters: Kippy Lamb of Dexter, Brenda and Lynn Mehaffy of Dexter, Tommy Fenton of Watertown, Debra Zimmer of Dexter,Laurie Orford and Randy Ives of Dexter, Julie and Ray Ives of Adams Center, Cynthia Orford and Dan Hutchinson of Black River. He also has numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his daughter Rachel Rose Orford on May 31, 2007 . A memorial service will be held 1:00 P.M. September 3rd at Watertown Assembly of God Church with Pastor Mike Ryan officiating. There are no calling hours. Donations may be made to American Cancer Society. Arrangements are with Johnson Funeral Home, Dexter.
