Michael P. Sweet, 58, of Watertown, New York, passed away unexpectedly on October 2, 2026, as a result of a tragic motorcycle accident.

He was born on June 16, 1968, in Florida, son of Nial and Mavis R. (Clement) Sweet. He graduated from Watertown High School in 1988. Following high school, Michael proudly served in the United States Army Reserves.

Michael spent most of his career working as a mechanic and a cook. He worked at Penzoil in Watertown and KFC in Watertown for 20 years. Since 2018, he had been employed at the Walmart Tire Center.

Michael enjoyed riding his motorcycle, hunting, and fishing. When he was younger, he especially enjoyed attending the races in LaFargeville.

Among his survivors are two brothers and a sister-in-law, Thomas Sweet of Watertown, NY, and Andrew (Brandi) Sweet of Watertown, NY; a brother-in-law and his companion, Jason Termin and Patti Tyler-Sack of Theresa; two nieces, Kimberleigh Termin and Jay Leigh Rose Sweet; and two nephews, Jacob Termin and Maverick Sweet.

He was predeceased by his parents and a sister, Pamela Termin.

Arrangements are with the Hart & Bruce Funeral Home. It was Michael’s wish to be cremated, and burial will be held in Brookside Cemetery.
