Michelle M. Kirkey, age 44 of County Rte 53 Dexter was stricken at home with a heart attack and passed away at the Samaritan Medical Center ER Saturday evening. She was born July 8, 1962 in Alexandria Bay the daughter of Orra and Gertrude Hirschler Nier. She attended Indian River Central School and then General Brown Central School. She married Raymond D. Kirkey in 1984 in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida. The couple have lived in Dexter the past ten years after returning from Florida. She was an account claims collector working for Wellesley Island Building Supply. She is survived by her husband Raymond and a son Cecil at home. Her parents Orra and Gertrude Nier of Brownville and a brother Orra 111 of Brownville and a sister Kimberly Sawyer of Watertown also survive. She has several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins. Funeral services will be held Thursday 11:00 am at the Johnson Funeral Home ,Dexter with Rev. Helen Hadley, pastor of Dexter United Methodist Church officiating. Burial will be in Dexter Cemetery. Calling hours will be from 2-4 and 7-9 on Wednesday. Donations may be made to the American Heart Association.
