Milton was born November 5, 1929 in Watertown the son of Eugene and Frances Doney Rathbun. He attended schools in Watertown. He served in the Army from 1948 until 1954. He married Madeline B. Hess on June 26, 1948 in Watertown. The couple lived in Watertown and Dexter. She passed away May 4th, 1993. Milton worked as a residential supervisor at the Jefferson County Children's Home in Watertown retiring in 1991 after 35 years. Milton is survived by a son Wayne Rathbun of Joppa, Maryland and a daughter Deborah Rathbun of Fayetteville, N.Y. He also has a companion Frances Dashnaw of Plattsburgh and a sister Evelyn Hall of Philadelphia, N.Y. Grandchildren Janna Ewart of Wilmington Vt. and Gregory Rathbun of Durango, Colorado and great grandchildren Jacob and Justin Ewart. A graveside service will be held Tuesday 1:00 P.M. at the Dexter Cemetery with Fr. Kevin O'Brien of Immaculate Conception Church of Brownville officiating. There are no calling hours. Arrangements are with Johnson Funeral Home, Dexter.
