Obituary

Myra "Aggie" Haas, 97 of Chaumont passed away Monday morning at the Lewis County Healthcare Facility Nursing Home. Aggie was born March 29, 1919 in Watertown, the daughter of Harold and Eleanor Byrne. She graduated from the Watertown High School and Watertown School of Business. Aggie worked as a secretary for the Base Commander of Pine Camp, then at Continental Cleaning Co., and during World War 11 she was a machinist at the New York Air Brake. She got married May 1947 at All Saints Church in Chaumont to Carl G. Haas. The couple operated a farm and Mr. Haas passed away March 3, 1990. She is survived by two sons: Gerald and Jaye-lee Haas of Chaumont, Milford Haas of Chaumont. She was predeceased by her son Lyndon Haas February 9, 2016 and a sister Eleanor Koslowski. A memorial service will be held Monday June 27 at the Christian Life Center, Chaumont with Pastor Jim Hayes officiating. Burial will be in New Cedar Grove Cemetery. There are no calling hours.
