Obituary

Nancy M. Chamberlain, age 67 of N. Indianan Ave. Watertown passed away Sunday 3:00 P.M. at University Hospital Upstate, N.Y. in Syracuse. Nancy was born September 11, 1940 in Pierrepont Manor the daughter of Leon E. and Grace Vincent Dickinson. She attended school in Evans Mills and later got her diploma from ICS of Rollins College and also took several college courses in Orlando, Florida. Nancy married Lawrence D. Chamberlain on October 8, 1967 in Evans Mills. The couple lived in Dexter, Orlando Florida for 25 years and moved to Watertown last June. Nancy worked as a cashier at Fays Drug Store in Watertown, she also worked in Copy and Advertising for Empsall's Dept. Store in Watertown, was one of the first Women Radio Announcers working for WATN Radio in Watertown and while in Orlando, Florida she was a cashier and did art work at Shell World. She was an avid artist working with oil and water and charcoal paintings, sculpting, pottery, and other arts and crafts. The past few years she was a member of Northern NY Genealogy Association and also a former member of Northern N.Y. Artist Guild. She was also a member of Unity Church in Orlando, Florida. She is survived by her husband Lawrence of Watertown and also two sisters Thelma Moye of Davenport, Florida and Marjorie Kovalik of Dexter and two brothers Leon L. Dickinson of Watertown and Laurence Dickinson of Cape Vincent. A graveside service will be held in May at Woodside Cemetery, Belleville at a time and date to be announced. There are no calling hours. Donations may be made to the American Cancer Society. Arrangements are with Johnson Funeral Home, Dexter.
