Obituary

Norman Warren Gould, age 94 of Hunters Run Apts. Dexter passed away Wednesday afternoon at Samaritan Medical Center. He had been a patient for two days. Norman was born June 27, 1914 on Pillar Point, one of Five generations of Gould's. He was the son of Warren and Carrie Hazelwood Gould. He attended school on Pillar Point; where he was the only student of his aunt Rosetta Gould Dillenbeck, who was the teacher. and graduated from Dexter High School. He married Dorothy White of Pillar Point and that marriage ended in divorce. He later married Ruth Cornell on May 23, 1970 in Watertown. Norman was a truck driver for N.Y. AirBrake Co. of Watertown from 1940 until retiring in 1979. Following retirement he worked at Stone St. Presbyterian Church for several years. He was a life member of the Northside Improvement League of Watertown. He enjoyed fishing and boating on Lake Ontario. He is survived by his wife Ruth who resides at Mercy Health Center, Watertown. He has a daughter Janice Vonda of Gloversville, N.Y. and three grandchildren- Debbie Cashara of Cornwall, N.Y., Michelle Ianotti of Amsterdam, N.Y. and Norma Jean Marshall also of Amsterdam. He also has two nieces, one nephew and six great grandchildren. He was predeceased by brothers Leslie and Niles Gould and a sister Alma Cosell. Funeral services are scheduled for 2:00 P.M. Saturday at the Johnson Funeral Home, Dexter with Rev. Bruce Smith, pastor of Stone St. Presbyterian Church of Watertown, officiating. Burial will be in Dexter Cemetery. Calling hours will be 1 hour prior to the funeral. Donations may be made to the Northside Improvement League.
