June 15 Orpha J. Allen, age 90 of Dexter died Tuesday 10:00 P.M. at Samaritan Keep Home. Orpha was born March 30, 1920 in Dexter, the daughter of Elmer and Madeline Chapman Marsaw. She graduated from Dexter High School and married Franklin J. Allen on October 25, 1941 at her parents' home. Orpha and Franklin owned and operated Allen's Market in Dexter until retiring in 1979. Mr. Allen died in 1996. She was a member of Dexter Presbyterian Church and a former member of Order of Eastern Star. Orpha is survived by two children and their spouses; Patricia and Alan Carpenter of Dexter and Paul and Virginia Allen of Virginia. She also has five grandchildren and two great grandchildren. A graveside service will be held Saturday 11:00 a.m. at Dexter Cemetery with Rev. Gail Parsons of Dexter Presbyterian Church officiating. There are no calling hours. Donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Association. Arrangements are with Johnson Funeral Home, Dexter.
