Obituary

Richard W. Ferguson, 55, of Watertown, New York, passed away peacefully august 28, 2025 at his home, surrounded by his beloved family and under the compassionate care of Hospice of Jefferson County.

Richard was born on August 21, 1970, in Watertown, NY, the son of Lawrence and Sandra (Lott) Ferguson. He was a 1989 graduate of Watertown High School. On May 18, 1996, he married Audra Peters of Watertown at the Three Mile Bay Baptist Church. The couple made their home in Watertown.

Richard spent most of his career as a self-employed contractor in the local area. In recent years, he worked as an over-the-road truck driver for VGT.  Audra is a case manager at Thrive.

Richard was an avid golfer and also enjoyed playing softball and fishing. A dedicated Buffalo Bills fan, he loved spending time with his family and friends.

Among his survivors are his loving wife, Audra M. Ferguson, of Watertown; eight children: Starr Duffany of Watertown, Scott and Joeyleigh Duffany of Watertown, Rocco Ferguson of Wyoming, Devin Ferguson of Adams, Tisha and Carson Daley of New Jersey, Richard Ferguson of Watertown, Anthony Ferguson of Watertown, and Kasey Ferguson and her companion Jake De Palma of Syracuse; ten grandchildren; two great-grandsons; his beloved mother and father-in-law, Sandra and Walter Weidner of Florida.

He is also survived by eight sisters: Tammy Gentry of Georgia, Tina Aubin of California, Tangie (Mike) Williams of Florida, Tracy Donato of Watertown, Sarah and Ashli Weidner of Michigan, Casey Weidner and her companion George Rasbitt, and Brittany Roshia-Weidner of Watertown; three brothers: Larry Ferguson of Denmark, NY, Mark Weidner of Sackets Harbor, NY, and Kurt Lee Weidner of Watertown; sister-in-law and her husband, Robin and Gregory McDonald of Fayetteville, NC; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

He was predeceased by his father, Lawrence Ferguson, a brother, Darren Ferguson, and a brother-in-law, Lloyd Gentry.

Arrangements are with the Hart & Bruce Funeral Home. Calling hours will be held at the funeral home on Tuesday, September 2nd from 11a.m. to 1 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Richard's memory may be made to Hospice of Jefferson County.
