Robert F. Caulkins, 79, of 915 Ives St., Watertown, passed away March 16, 2018 at Hospice of Jefferson County at the Ellis Farm where he had been a resident.
He was born on February 16, 1939 in Adams Center, the son of Lyle F. and Marjorie (Snell) Caulkins.
He married Ginger J. Rogers on February 6, 1971 at the First Baptist Church in Watertown.
Bob was a retired member of NYS Teamsters who drove tractor trailer for various local trucking companies, including 22 years with Seaway Motor Express. He also enjoyed carpentry and had been a heavy equipment operator.
Bob and his wife enjoyed dining out, and attending concerts especially at the Turning Stone Resort Casino.
Among his survivors are his beloved wife of 47 years, Ginger J. Caulkins, their son, Robert L. Caulkins and two grandsons, Michael and Matthew. He is also survived by his four children, Cheryl (Donald) Dwyer, James (Marla) Brown, Debra Sue (Neil) Hamilton, and David Caulkins, along with several grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Besides his parents he is predeceased by a son, Mark Caulkins, who died from leukemia as a young child.
Arrangements are with the Hart & Bruce Funeral Home, Watertown. Per his request, the body was cremated. Visitation will be held from 3:00-4:00 p.m. on Saturday, March 24th, at the Hart & Bruce Funeral Home, 117 N. Massey St., Watertown, New York, followed by a memorial service at 4 p.m. at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his memory to Hospice of Jefferson County, 1398 Gotham St., Watertown, NY 13601.
