Robert C. Huntley, age 81 of County Rt. 75 Sackets Harbor passed away at his home Friday 12:15 a.m. He had been under the care of his family and Hospice of Jefferson County. Robert was born June 19, 1926 in Ogdensburg, N.Y. the son of Robert E. and Amber Huntley. He graduated from Ogdensburg High School and upon graduation entered the Navy serving three years from 1944 until 1947. He served in the Atlantic during World War 11. Following the War he graduated in 1952 from College of Forestry, Syracuse, N.Y. He married Viola Huntress on June 11, 1948 in DeKalb Junction, N.Y. The couple lived in Sackets Harbor. He was a surveyor for 54 years with many companies; such as Lewis and Dickerson, LaFave, White and McGivern and also went into business for himself in Sackets Harbor. He loved the outdoors, hunting and fishing. Bowling was his true love for nearly 50 plus years. He bowled in two leagues at South Jeff Lanes up until the age of 81. He was an honorary member of the 700 Club and also a Life member of Watertown Men's' Bowling Association. Survivors include son Joseph of Boston, Mass., David and his wife Laura of Sackets Harbor and daughter Nancy of South Daytona, Florida. He also has a brother Donald "Jerry" Huntley of Green Bay Wisconsin and four grandsons. There will be no funeral or calling hours. He will be cremated.
