Robert J. Thomas, age 77 of Church Street Glen Park, N.Y. passed away Monday morning November 10th at his home under the care of his family and Hospice of Jefferson County. Robert was born February 3, 1937 in Dexter the son of John and Edna Baldwin Thomas. He graduated from Dexter High School. He served in the US Navy. Robert was employed as Hydro Maintenance Supervisor for Niagara Mohawk in Watertown. He also served as a police officer for 48 years for Glen Park and Brownville. Robert was a Jefferson County Legislator and Chairman for eight years of his 20 years on the board. He was a member of Dexter Masonic Lodge #1072, A.A.U.S.A., Glen Park Fire Dept. and was an EMT. Robert married Deborah R. Love on October 21, 1990. Surviving is his wife Deborah, a daughter Michelle and David Brown of Clayton, a grandson Dillon R. Davis of Glen Park, nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by brothers Norman and Lowell Thomas. Funeral services will be Thursday at 2:00 P.M. at the Glen Park Fire Hall with Rev. Leon Van Wie, pastor of Asbury United Methodist Church officiating. Burial will be in Dexter Cemetery. Calling hours will be from 10:00 A.M. until 2:00 P.M. at the Glen Park Fire Hall.
